Even after the success of J. Cole, for some reason the amount of talent and potential of hip hop in North Carolina gets overlooked. There are many other rappers from North Carolina who are making themselves known to the public. Many outlets exist for these rappers, as is the case with the next crop of Fayetteville emcees.
A popular club in Fayetteville is The Pearl Necklace and they recently began doing an open mic night. Many of the next up and coming Fayetteville rappers are performing at this open mic series, Rocc The Mic Wednesdays. DJ Chuck T will be providing the sounds for the evening and many of the hottest independent rappers in the area will be on deck.
Tomorrow night, the Rocc The Mic Wednesdays will resume at The Pearl Necklace and performances from the artists will take place. Rocc The Mic Wednesdays’ open mic night winner will receive a promo package sponsored by Team Greatness and Hip Hop Vibe. The winner will be announced after the show.
