These fans are dedicated, to say the least, they’ll do whatever for their artists. For the better part of the past decade, XXL has given the music fans insight on the next artists to watch out for. This has made up their annual Freshmen list.
Favorites for 2017 include Playboi Carti and XXXTentacion, both of whom have enjoyed big years. In the case of Carti, he has his “Magnolia” single that has blown up, this summer. When XXL had their Freshmen concert, their goal was to have everyone perform.
But, for whatever reasons, Playboi Carti and XXXTentacion were unable to perform. The fans didn’t care what the reasons were, they weren’t having it. They stormed the concert and a riot nearly broke out in response to the rappers not showing up.
