There was once a time when Rihanna was the most-consistent artist in music. Every year, between 2005 and 2012, Rihanna released a new album. She was a part of the reinvention of Def Jam from simply a rap label to an all-around label.
Rihanna would eventually take a four year hiatus and most assumed it was business as usual, upon her 2016 return. It wasn’t, as Rihanna followed her mentor, Jay-Z’s, footsteps, focusing on business deals. In 2017, her huge release was FENTY Beauty, not music.
However, like Jay-Z, Rihanna never rules out another album. Since 2018, she has had fans on the hook, as many hoped she and Cardi B would link up. Today, The Pop Hub claims they have found that RiRi has filed with SESAC for a song entitled “Whip It,” with Megan Thee Stallion, which has Twitter in shambles.
