An advantage of an independent artist is that they really don’t need a “big year” in order to have success. Take Ransom as an example, he just gets up and records music and the streets love him, so he doesn’t endure the same type of problems as major artists. Last year, Ransom had tons of success and even had a lot of press from Nicki Minaj.

Tons of press came Ransom’s way during the summer, when his beef with Joe Budden ended, after five years. Studio photos surfaced of Ransom in the studio with Tsu Surf and Joe Budden. Earlier this fall, their recordings hit the internet and they were met with tons of positive responses.

Now, Ransom is gearing up for the release of his latest project, Pain & Glory, another album he made just for the streets. Fans already knew the release date for the album, as Ransom has kept social media hot with the October 28 release date. But, he took to Instagram to release the album cover two days before the release.
