R. Kelly has had child support issues with his ex-wife Andrea Kelly for a while now. He’s been ordered in court to pay over $20,000 in child support to her since 2009. Currently, he owes $32k in back child support to her.
Kelly was arrested for not paying over $161k in late child support payments in March and now he’s having a similar issue as he has to cough up $32k to Drea. Drea has been asking a judge to set a hard deadline on R. Kelly and while she was a guest on TMZ Live today with their daughter Buku Abi, she said he has to get it by any means, even if it resorts to him working at Del Taco.
$11,500 of the $32k is interest of the child support payments and the rest is for the unpaid money and educational costs for Buku to attend keep attending college. Recently, Buku was supposedly struggling to enroll in school because of R. Kelly’s late payments but she said on TMZ that things worked themselves out and she’s back in college. She added that she doesn’t need his money and that it’s simply his responsibility to handle those expenses.
Kelly is also facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault with four underage girls and just got 11 counts added for his involvement with another underage girl.
