R. Kelly Reportedly Attacked By “Frustrated” Inmate in Chicago Prison He’s Incarcerated at Due To Facility Lock Downs Caused By Outside Pro-Kelly Protestors

R. Kelly has been going downhill since 2019. In January of that year, the ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ docuseries on Lifetime exposed him for his actions regarding sex with minors over the last three decades. He ended up incarcerated last summer as he’s being investigated for those charges and racketeering. These cases are in New York, Minnesota, and his home state of Illinois.

Three of Kelly’s associates were recently arrested for trying to pay off and/or intimidate witnesses. Kelly’s lawyer, Steven Greenberg, has since denied Kelly’s involvement in this. Now, things are getting bad for Kelly at the prison he’s at in Chicago.

According to TMZ, Kelly was assaulted by an inmate at Metropolitan Correctional Center. The inmate was allegedly frustrated due to the facility being placed on lock down a couple of times because of pro-Kelly protests outside of it. The inmate walked up to Kelly as he was in his bed and began to repeatedly punch him.

A doctor soon took a look at Kelly and concluded that there were no serious injuries. A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau Of Prisons told TMZ that they “cannot comment on an individual inmate’s conditions of confinement or medical status due to privacy and safety reasons.” Greenberg also didn’t speak on the situation but claimed that Kelly is a “model inmate.”
