Back in 2010, Pusha T signed with G.O.O.D. Music and he wasted no time establishing himself as a solo artist. Several times, fans thought they were getting the Pusha T debut album, but they were instead fed holdover projects. Last year, Pusha T finally released My Name Is My Name and cemented his status.
On the heels of releasing the album, Pusha T promised to deliver another one in 2014, but the year has been different. Outside of “Move That Dope,” some fans are wondering what happened to that boy (some pun intended). But, silence does not mean absence, Pusha T was off working.
XXL talked to Pusha T about his new album, once titled King Push, which is still due this year. When asked about his goals for the album, Pusha T said album of the year was his goal. He also spoke on his line about filling Jay-Z’s shoes and Pusha T did not back down from the statement.
