“Push, my name is my name,” Pusha T growls on “Pain,” featuring Future. An unlikely pair on a song, it fits for certain moods. Pusha T has had much practice with his solo releases. After strong performances on Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Pusha T delivered in 2011. Fear of God was worthy of album-like praise.

But, when it has come to putting out an album, G.O.O.D. Music opted to instead debut their Detroit artist, Big Sean. In 2012, Big Sean had a second album scheduled and the label released the Cruel Summer compilation. But, in 2013, Pusha T will release his debut album, My Name is My Name.

Always on the road, Pusha T recently pulled through Philadelphia. During the latest stop, Pusha T spoke to Hip Hop Since 1987. Before My Name is My Name, Pusha T has another mixtape planned, Wrath of Caine. Pusha T explained both projects and their titles in his interview.
