Nothing can take away from Taraji P. Henson, and the run she’s been on, these past three years. She is still killing it as Cookie on “Empire,” killed it on Hidden Figures, and literally killed on Proud Mary. The movie grossed $3.2 million on Friday, it’s opening box office day.
Proud Mary follows the story of Mary (Henson), a Boston organized crime hitwoman. Living that thug life, Mary begins to change her ways, when she leaves a young man orphaned. Following this, Mary takes responsibility for the young man.
There is a lot of Proud Mary slander on the timeline, with people saying the movie is “trash.” Not only are they calling the movie “trash,” but going as far as saying “trash AF.” Still, the people are supporting Taraji and anyone who saw Proud Mary, and did enjoy it is free to tweet Hip-HopVibe.com directly.
