R. Kelly recently tried for a third time to try to be released from MCC Chicago as he’s been using the excuse of possible getting the coronavirus. He also added that he can’t meet with his lawyers in person and that he’s a diabetic with high blood pressure and cholesterol who can be subjected to this virus.

The ruling on Kelly possibly getting released is here and prosecutors aren’t buying his excuses. According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, these prosecutors based in New York want him to remain locked up. They explained that he doesn’t have any diabetic symptoms as “the defendant has not been diagnosed with hypertension; nor has he been prescribed any medication to treat high blood pressure.”

On May 1, a doctor actually went to see Kelly for 45 minutes where he gave him simple advice to stay healthy which are to do  regular exercises, taking multivitamins, and B-12. In this meeting, the singer complained how he can’t eat the food given to him in prison or do any exercises in his cell due to it being so mall.

Kelly has been in prison since last summer due to sex crimes he’s allegedly committed for over three decades now. Investigators were able to get more evidence to be able to arrest him after Lifetime’s ‘Surviving R. Kelly‘ docuseries aired in January of 2019 He is facing sex crimes in his home state of Illinois, Minnesota, and New York. The trial in Chicago has since been postponed to October. The trial in Brooklyn is set for July 7.

If R. Kelly is able to get released due to the virus, he plans to live with his girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage. Her apartment is close to an outdoor shopping mall where younger girls frequently go to and this wouldn’t be an appropriate place for him to live.
