Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, Which Features Young Thug, Bad Bunny, Tyler, The Creator, and More, Postponed To August Due to Coronavirus Pandemic

We continue to see various concerts/festivals become canceled or postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that is hitting the world hard this month. The latest festival to feel the impact of COVID-19 is the Primavera Sound festival which is supposed to take place in Barcelona, Spain, from June 3-7.

Primavera Sound took to their website and Instagram feed to announce that the festival will be moved to August 26-30. Tickets will still be honored for those dates as well. Among the superstars set to take the stage in Barcelona ate Young Thug, Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, The Creator, and more.

“For this reason, given the exceptional nature of the situation in which we find ourselves, Primavera Sound Barcelona 2020 will take place from 26th to 30th August. We feel obliged and responsible to contribute insofar as we can to the survival of the live music scene, whose role will be key to the return to normality after this absolutely unprecedented situation that has never been faced before by the cultural sector and all its agents: artists and their teams, agencies, promoters, venues, festivals, stage builders, technical and production teams, bar staff, cleaning and security staff, and in general the thousands of people involved in the sector.”

It’s sad to see so many events worldwide this summer get postponed due to the virus even though we’re still in March but safety is always the priority. Primavera Sound 2020 should still be a hell of a week in August.
