During times of tragedy, which can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time, people learn how fortunate they are. Often, The Bahamas are a favorite vacation destination. Outside of the resorts, the nation’s economy not always been the best.
Then, due to its remote island locales, The Bahamas are a target for hurricanes. Over the weekend, Hurricane Dorian made landfall as the worst storm the nation has seen, in living memory. Not only did the island get slammed by Category 5 strength, the storm lingered.
On social media, people have had #PrayForTheBahamas trending ever since the storm made its impact. But, Miami-Daded County’s community emergence operations center is accepting donations.
