Pop Smoke’s Breakout 2019 Hit Single, “Welcome To The Party,” Goes Platinum

It’s been almost a year since hip-hop lost rising Brooklyn rapper, Pop Smoke. He was tragically shot and killed in a Hollywood Hills, CA home. He rented this from former ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star, Teddi Mellencamp and her husband, Edwin Arroyave. 12 days before this incident, he released another project in his ‘Meet The Woo 2’ mixtape.

Smoke originally gained a buzz for himself in the summer of 2019 with his “Welcome To The Party” single. This was a hot record in New York and soon started to spread like wildfire nationwide. Now, it has originally been certified platinum  in the US, according to Chart Data. This is after selling 1 million units.

Welcome To The Party went on to receive two separate remixes with fellow New York star, Nicki Minaj and UK rapper, Skepta. The original version ha also since amassed over 106 million YouTube views.

Smoke’s team went on to release his debut studio album, ‘Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon,’ in July 2020. It went on to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and is platinum as well.
