On Friday night, Polo G was in Miami celebrating the release of his “Hall Of Fame” album, which may potentially be the number one album in the US next week. Things turned quickly for the worse though as according to TMZ, the Chicago rapper ended up being arrested for allegedly beating up a local police officer.
Polo was reportedly stopped in his car and from that point, he was said to have gotten physical with the cop. He was soon slapped with charges of public servant/influence performance threat, resisting officer with violence, resisting officer without violence, and criminal mischief over $200, under $1,000.
Polo’s bond was soon set at $15,000. The cop claimed to have been hit by Polo’s elbows, and soon suffered lacerations to the face. His mother, Stacia Mac, went on social media though, and says she believed that Polo was being profiled in this situation. In addition to Polo being detained, his 16-year-old brother was there as well.
Polo also supposedly wasn’t even the driver of the vehicle, it was a white male. That man ended up swerving in the road, which led to the officer being cut off. Ms. Mac added that she wasn’t even allowed to speak to her boys, after they were stopped.
As for Polo’s “Hall Of Fame” album, it’s been buzzing on social media. It contains 20 tracks with features from Nicki Minaj, DaBaby, Young Thug, Lil Durk, the late Pop Smoke, and more. This project also contains the hit single, “RAPSTAR,” which hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in April and is certified platinum in the US.
