It’s been over a week and a half since rising Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke’s death in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles. Four men reportedly walked into the home with the intention to kill Smoke. This home is owned by ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star, Teddi Mellencamp and her husband, Edwin Arroyave.
Last Sunday, Smoke’s family had a church service dedicated to him in his hometown of Brooklyn and also released a statement yesterday thanking everyone for their support and that there hasn’t been any public details regarding the murder and to watch out for inaccurate reports. Now, police in LA have have trouble gathering information from potential witnesses, according to TMZ.
These potential witnesses are refusing to speak while others are changing stories to details that are untrue. Nobody was outside the home when the shooting took place so there are supposedly no neutral witnesses to speak to. Police have also looked online for videos relating to the murder but they turned out to have nothing to do with it.
Police also have to do research on if anyone back in Smoke’s hometown of New York City have any connection to the murder. No motive has been found either as they still believe that he was targeted and wasn’t an ordinary home invasion. Hopefully, the suspects do somehow end up get caught so Smoke can get the justice he deserves.
Smoke broke out as an artist in the summer of 2019 with his hit single “Welcome To The Party.” This ended up receiving remixes with Nicki Minaj and Skepta. The single appeared on his debut mixtape “Meet The Woo.” The sequel was released this month as it featured the single “Christopher Walking” and also “Dior,” which also appeared on the first mixtape.
