Earlier this month, Lupe Fiasco announced he would soon be returning with new music. Last year, Lupe Fiasco revealed he was working on a sequel to his debut album, which he hoped to release before the end of 2012. Right before the summer, Lupe Fiasco made plans to release the lead single from the new album.

Lupe Fiasco released the artwork to his single, “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free),” which he released a few days later. The song sampled Pete Rock’s “T.R.O.Y.” single and the legend took to Twitter to express his displeasure. The only person not pleased with the song was Pete Rock, as the critics loved it.

As Lupe Fiasco made his media rounds, he ignored the diss from Pete Rock and spoke on the positives about the single. Pete Rock soon returned to Twitter to announce the feud being over. Lupe Fiasco was a little outraged, saying Pete Rock spoke too soon and he denied the two completely resolving their differences.

The back-and-forth between the two has been hard to keep up with, as far as what their status is. MTV News recently spoke to Pete Rock to get his opinion on his issues with Lupe Fiasco.
