Paul Pierce! Bruh, it’s been real, thanks for all the memories… Too bad not even YOU could save the Clippers from themselves

Out of all the cities in the world, Paul Pierce ended his career actually playing in LA for LA. Thankfully, he didn’t do it with the Lakers, because that would’ve rubbed every Pierce fan the wrong way. It’s hard to even imagine the fact that Paul Pierce is from Los Angeles.

Paul Pierce was drafted by the Boston Celtics and his first year was during the lockout year. By 2002, Pierce got the Celtics back in the playoffs and all the way to the Conference Finals. But, it wasn’t always playoff trips for Pierce, but he did manage to pull off 2002 – 2005.

It would take a blockbuster trade for Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to get the help Paul Pierce needed. This was the second attempt at a super-team from an NBA franchise and their success created the current trend of roster stacking. The deal, which many felt was disgusting, with Kevin Durant going to Golden State, was inspired by this.

But, the difference was that Paul Pierce earned his in the nine years he gave the Boston Celtics. Suddenly, he was playing for the NBA’s best team and won a championship, over Kobe Bryant during his MVP year, at that. The rivalry with the Lakers and Celtics re-started, then Boston made it back to one more Finals, a rematch that they lost in seven games.

The Celtics ended up making some moves, briefly deciding to build around Rajon Rondo. That meant Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were moved to the Brooklyn Nets, which came after Ray Allen ditched them for the Heat. After this, Paul Pierce bounced around, leaving Brooklyn in 2014 for the Washington Wizards. In 2015, he and Doc Rivers reunited, but with the LA Clippers, where they hoped to be the final piece to the puzzle.

All jokes aside, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul have been doing their thing, getting busy for the Clippers. They know how to win in the regular season, so having Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers was supposed to make them the ultimate winner. If not for the injuries, who knows?, but no regrets from Paul Pierce, who will retire with a championship for the team he built, and got the MVP for, so all in all, thanks PP.
