No one is questioning the impact “Empire” had on pop culture in the eleven nights it aired. Even before the show premiered, Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson were out promoting it. After episode one, it was clear Lee Daniels and Danny Strong had a winner.
“Empire” is focused on the record label, Empire Entertainment, built by none other than Lucious Lyon (Howard). The label is the biggest independent record label and is going public on the NYSE. With pull like this, clearly the label has connections.
During the “Empire” season finale, Patti LaBelle made a guest appearance as herself. Featured alongside Jennifer Hudson, Patti LaBelle had so much fun, many felt as if she should come back for more. Apparently, Patti LaBelle felt the same way, as she jumped at the opportunity to come back for season two.
