Losing Kobe Bryant is something the world is having a hard time getting over. Accidents happen, all the time, but the world views the heroes as invincible. So, when Kobe Bryant died, it sparked plenty of emotions at once, with everyone feeling the need to do SOMETHING.

Oscar De La Hoya was no different than all of the others who were stunned, and in disbelief, when Bryant died. A hero, in his own right, the famed boxer took to action. Immediately, he called the management of the STAPLES Center to make an offer.

During a recent interview with Big Boy, on “Big Boy’s Neighborhood,” Oscar De La Hoya said he spoke with STAPLES Center’s CEO. He offered a proposal to them, which they turned down. De La Hoya said he offered to have them remove his statue in favor of one in Kobe Bryant’s honor.
