OnlyFans Changes Course, Decides Not to Ban Sexual Content From Its Website; Was Originally Scheduled to Start Ban in October

Last week, OnlyFans stunned the internet, when they revealed that sexual content such as photos and videos would be banned, starting on October 1. This was a move made in order to get the website more mainstream, and wanted investors to come in and put in $1 billion. OF went on to say how some sexual content would be exempt, if they met the website’s policies.

OF received a lot of backlash from sex workers online, as they cited how for many of them, this is their main source of income. OF was originally created to be a content creator site, where people would subscribe to their content, most of the time for a monthly fee. Soon, sex became the popular content there, and it spread like wildfire.

Now, OF is changing their mind about banning sex posts, according to the company in a statement, on Twitter. They “secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community.” The banks they partnered with for funding also agreed to pay sex workers for their content.

“Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change. OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.”

It’s definitely safe to say that for many, OF is now back to normal. A lot of people wouldn’t have seen the website the same way, if sexual content went on to be banned. Check out OF’s statement on the policy reversal, below.
