As much as everybody loves discussing the VMAs, the crazy antics of Nicki Minaj, and all the other topics, it’s important to remember where the game started. History deserves to be remembered and it shouldn’t have to wait until Wednesday. No knock to the fellow staff members at all.
Many of the current stars in hip hop draw inspiration from the names of the past. A lot of female rappers found themselves inspired by the bold music from Queen Latifah that put women first. Queen Latifah blazed the trail and a lot of people wonder what could’ve been when it comes to Big L.
One of the biggest executives in the history of hip hop was Chris Lighty and he took his own life last year. Saying that still hurts, but it happened, this conversation isn’t about that though. This is a simple glance in a photo album as Big L, Bobbito from Stretch, Buckwild, Queen Latifah, Chris Lighty, Special Ed, and D-Nice are pictured.
