Months after getting arrested, Detroit rapper Obie Trice has been charged in the shooting incident of his girlfriend’s18-year-old son.
Back on December 6th, Trice got into altercation with his girlfriend’s son. All of this took place in the home he shares with his girlfriend of five years. He had been drinking for the better part of that day and got into an argument with his partner. He allegedly got physical and shoved her. That is when her son stepped in to defend her.
A skirmish between the two took place inside the home. After awhile the son and mother decided to leave the home. Police then allege that Trice went and got a gun and returned to where his girlfriend and her son were at. Fearing for his life, the young man tried to disarm Trice. They both fell to ground struggling for the gun. That is when the gun accidentally went off, shooting the 18-year-old in the groin.
Trice was arrested and charged with aggravated felony assault of a family member with a gun and contempt of court for violating a protective order. He quickly bonded out on a $16,900 payout. He’s now catching a break instead being charged with a misdemeanor possession of an unregistered firearm.
