Last week, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, held s press conference and mentioned the negative effects of drill music, in hip-hop. He revealed that his son showed him several music videos, and didn’t like the content he saw, and the lyrics he heard.

“I had no idea what drill rapping was,” Adams said, “but I called my son, and he sent me some videos, and it is alarming. We are going to pull together the social media companies, and sit down with them, and state that you have a civic and corporate responsibility.”

Drill music is very popular in the NYC hip-hop scene these days. These include rappers such as Fivio Foreign, Sheff G, and the late Pop Smoke. Adams revealed that he would meet with several high profile rappers, to discuss the drill music situation.
