Nipsey Hussle’s Brother Blacc Sam Is Trying To Receive Trademark For Nipsey’s “The Marathon Continues” Slogan After Crips Filed For It As Well

Earlier this month, Crips in Los Angeles filed paperwork looking to receive the trademark for Nipsey Hussle’s “The Marathon Continues” slogan. This was used in Nipsey’s 2010 mixtape and is also used on his The Marathon Clothing apparel. The Crips said they wanted use the TMC slogan to promote charitable events and gang intervention.

Now, Nipsey’s brother Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom looks like he’ll be in a legal battle vs the Crips regarding the trademark, per The Blast. Documents state that he filed paperwork for the TMC trademark on May 28. This is in order to use it for entertainment services, music and “charitable activities and the doing of good deeds for others and the promotion of ethical and character values.”

Sam managing the TMC trademark is the best move in this situation. He is the administrator of Nipsey’s estate and is handling business decisions regarding his name now. He is family, after all and would be the most reliable one to manage the trademark. U.S. Patent & Trademark officials will end up deciding who receives the trademark.
