The year of 2012 started off bumpy for Nicki Minaj, as her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album faced a delay. When the album was released, early in the spring, Nicki Minaj dealt with a major backlash. Fans felt Nicki Minaj switched from her traditional hip hop style to more pop oriented music, despite collaborations with Cam’ron, among others.

Releasing her album so early in the year, Nicki Minaj watched as many of the biggest artists in the game dropped their albums in the summer. Those who did not release their albums in the summer are currently releasing their projects here in the closing months of 2012. Nicki Minaj decided to jump back into the frenzy with her new album, The Re-Up.

Featuring seven new songs, led by “The Boys” featuring Cassie, Nicki Minaj’s latest album is a re-release of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. With the album being released yesterday, Nicki Minaj is making her media rounds. Yesterday, Nicki Minaj appeared on “Good Morning America” and today she appeared on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” discussing her new album.
