Nicki Minaj Shades BET Hip-Hop Awards Over “Seeing Green” Song, With Lil Wayne and Drake, Not Being Nominated

The 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards nominees were revealed yesterday, as Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj have the most nominations, with nine each. Drake came in at second, with eight in total.

Now, there are already discussions about which artists and songs were snubbed from the nominations. Nicki Minaj is weighing in, as her “Seeing Green” song, ft. Drake and Lil Wayne, didn’t get any nominations.

The Queen took to Twitter to voice her displeasure, by saying:

“If you mention “HipHop” in 2021 & don’t mention #SeeingGreen that tells me everything I need to know.”

Seeing Green initially appeared on the rerelease of NIcki’s “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape, on to streaming outlets, in May. That also included the new single, “Fractions.” Seeing Green was regarded as the best song added onto that project though, as it showcased three of the biggest rappers in the world, who were all on the same Young Money/Cash Money record label together.
