Nicki Minaj Removes “Mrs. Petty” From Her Twitter Handle, and Fans Wonder Why The Sudden Change Was Made

Nicki Minaj has had social media on fire, as she finally returned to the Internet in mid-May. She delivered the rerelease of her classic 2009 “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape on streaming outlets then. This contained new tracks as well, such as “Fractions” and “Seeing Green” feat. Drake and Lil Wayne.

Nicki has also had “Mrs. Petty” in her Twitter handle for some time now. This is in honor of her marriage to her current husband, Kenneth Petty. Now, that has been taken out of her bio, and Nicki went back to using “Nicki Minaj.”

While this may just be something that Nicki wanted to do in general, fans on Twitter have been wondering why this random move was the case. It was also announced this week that Mr. Petty entered a plea deal, in his case where he failed to register as a sex offender in California, last spring. This move was made in hopes to avoid 10 years in prison.

In the meantime, Nicki has been working on her fifth studio album, as no finalized title or release date has been revealed yet. Her last project was “Queen” in 2018.
