For four years, Twitter has been one of the top social networking tools for those who are looking to expand their businesses. In 2008, Ashton Kutcher engaged in a Twitter competition with CNN for the first account to reach one million followers. Kutcher eventually won the competition and Twitter soon became a hub for the rap game.
Things have changed on Twitter since 2008, with Nicki Minaj rising to fame two years later. Twitter has risen to become the primary way fans stay connected with their favorite entertainers. However, the social networking site has also been the source of controversy. Many Twitter beefs have started, with rappers using the outlet to insult each other.
Nicki Minaj has built a large Twitter following, with over 11 million followers. But, after a fan site leaked her music, which was met with more negative responses, she was at her limits. Upset, Nicki decided to delete her Twitter, saying “good fucking bye.” In a later update, still upset about, Nicki Minaj revealed her account would soon be history.
