Early in 2010, Nicki Minaj found her footing with Young Money and began preparing for her debut album. When Nicki Minaj was starting out, she received a major lift. As he prepared his comeback album, Kanye West put another posse cut together.
This record, in the same vein as “Swagga Like Us” and “Forever,” Kanye put “Monster” together. The song, featuring Rick Ross and Jay Z, featured Nicki Minaj closing the record. Many still credit her for bringing the hardest verse of the 2010-2011 period.
Nicki Minaj performed “Monster” during the TIDAL event, which took place this weekend. Seeing how it was a Jay Z event, of course Nicki performed her “Monster” verse. Sharing the performance on Instagram, Nicki Minaj would explain the verse, specifically the “Young Money is the rasta and the monster crew,” referring to the crew of YM (roster) and Lil Wayne (rasta).
