In the early 2000s, it wasn’t just Ja Rule who had the pop-rap scene on lock, there were also guys like Nelly making an impact. Not only was he making an impact, Nelly created a whole new culture. The St. Louis rapper made a whole new style and broke all kinds of records.

Nelly was the first St. Louis artist to emerge in the rap game and the door was soon open. The introduction of Nelly made it possible for the St. Lunatics to come out and do their thing. Eventually, Murphy Lee emerged as the next star out of the camp.

DJ Envy returned to “The Breakfast Club” this morning and he sat down with Nelly, alongside Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee. In the interview, Nelly talked about the new music he has in the works and the St. Louis hip hop scene. He went on to speak on his relationship with Shantel Jackson, who used to date Floyd Mayweather, and he also discussed rap beef.
