What N.O.R.E. is doing is actually laying the template for how older rappers can remain relevant. A move that few rappers would have made is doing a podcast. Following the “Drink Champs” success, expect many veteran rappers to reinvent.
Comparable to how pro sports athletes move into commentating and analyzing, after they retire, veteran rappers can have these roles. No question, “Drink Champs” inspired “Everyday Struggle.” As time moves on, more of these types of programs will exist.
N.O.R.E. was in Los Angeles and he visited Power 106, where he sat down with L.A. Leakers. The interview started with him speaking on the chemistry with Pharrell, and him being the greatest producer of all-time. Quickly, talk shifted to “Drink Champs,” and him creating a L.A. Leakers day.
