In some ways similar to 50 Cent rising to the top of the rap game in 2003, is Meek Mill’s rise to stardom, which completed with his release of Dreams and Nightmares. In one sweep, Meek Mill made his dreams into a reality and also returned Philadelphia to prominence in the rap game. Children all over the world rap to his lyrics.
While his story has been highly publicized, Meek Mill has his own special way of telling his story. MTV has gone through many changes over the years. Over the past decade and a half, MTV faced criticism for not playing much music. But, MTV is still a great outlet for the artists.
The newest series on MTV is called “This is How I Made It.” Such hip hop stars as Mac Miller have already appeared on the show. On the latest episode, the fourth in the series, Meek Mill spoke on rising the ranks of the Philadelphia battle rap scene and linking up with Rick Ross and Maybach Music. Using Rick Ross’ fan base and platform, Meek Mill became the biggest new rapper in the game.
