Though recent years don’t show it, there was a time when Mo’Nique was one of entertainment’s biggest names. She rose to fame as one of the “Queens of Comedy.” But, it was “The Parkers” that made Mo’Nique a household name.
Following the end of “The Parkers,” the immediate Mo’Nique years saw her hosting the BET Awards, producing and starring in movies, and making high-profile guest appearances. Suddenly, all of that slowed down. The past few years have been controversial, for her.
Last night, Mo’Nique proved why she rose to fame, in the first place. For the first time, in years, over a decade, Mo’Nique took the stage, and did a standup routine. She was in Uptown Comedy Club, in Atlanta, where she tore the stage down.
