Mike Tyson explains incident of punching fan on flight
Last month, boxing legend Mike Tyson went viral, after being seen beating up a man, before a JetBlue flight, while the two were seated on the plane. This was a flight set to take off from San Francisco to Miami.
Tyson had been taking photos with fans on the flight, including this man. Soon though, the fan started saying things to Tyson behind his seat, and that resulted in Tyson throwing punches, which left visible injuries to the face. The San Mateo County District Attorney decided not to file charges though, due to “the conduct of the victim leading up to the incident, the interaction between Mr. Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the victim and Mr. Tyson.”
Now, Tyson is finally publicly addressing this incident. This was done on his “Hotboxin'” podcast, as Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson also joined him. Tyson said “He was f***ing with me, man. I took pictures with this n****.” This also comes after the fan allegedly threw a water bottle at Tyson.
Tyson also explained that he shouldn’t be on commercial flights, anyway. Tyson also revealed that these situations trigger him.
“I shouldn’t even be taking public planes,” Tyson said. A bodyguard and a f***ing yes man. What am I gonna do on a plane?”
