Alright, this is what the hip hop heads have waited for. A lot of people thought 2012 was a big year in terms of hip hop, especially with the comebacks. Last year does not even hold a candle to what 2013 has put down. Within weeks of each other, Kanye West and Jay-Z have dropped albums, no telling when this will happen again.

The closest hip hop has gotten to a new Jay-Z album was Watch the Throne, his collaborative album with Kanye West. It was this album that set the tone for the hip hop music of 2011-2012 with countless smash hits on the project. “Niggas in Paris” and “No Church in the Wild” just died down, perfect time to inject more life.

A lot of commentary has taken place about Jay-Z and Kanye West. Both albums are great bodies of work, but there have been those select fans on Facebook and Twitter who have had their own comments about the project. Responding to a producer bashing Jay-Z’s new album, Mike Dean said “don’t burn the bridge for Watch the Throne 2.”
