Everything about this story is devastating, as Oweeta Wilkins and her 10-year-old son were just trying to get to a pizza place to link with her 20-year-old daughter. The daughter worked at the pizza place. Ironic that the restaurant is named Happy’s Pizza.
For Gia Caple, nothing about the restaurant will ever be happy again, as her mother and brother have died. The death of Wilkins and the little boy, Aaron, occurred, as she turned in with her Buick. According to police reports, the police cruiser had their sirens on, but she pulled out.
A vigil was held and Gia Caple said she is forever heartbroken, as her mother, a single mom of three, is dead, along with her brother. In addition to this, her factory worker mother was also a caregiver for the children’s grandmother, her own mother. Detroit police are currently investigating this matter.
