Megan Thee Stallion was definitely one of the biggest breakout artists of 2019 as she first broke out after her 2018 single “Big Ole Freak” took off in the spring. She soon followed up that record’s success with her ‘Fever’ EP which featured the hit single “Cash S*it” feat. DaBaby and “Realer.” She closed they summer out with the smash hit “Hot Girl Summer” feat. Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.

The Houston superstar has since released her ‘Suga’ EP last month which was headlined by the single “B.I.T.C.H” and then, “Savage” ended up being the biggest record from this project. This has become a very popular song on TikTok as user Keara Wilson created a dance for it. Megan has since posted videos dancing to it along with Normani, Keke Palmer, Jessica Alba, and more.

Savage has now gone gold, according to Chart Data. This is after it reached the 500,000 units mark. This record’s momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon as it continues to be an online sensation.

Megan’s Suga EP was able to be released after being granted a temporary restraining order against 1501 Certified Entertainment, the Houston-based record label who wouldn’t let her release any new music. She signed with them when she was 20 but at the time, didn’t understand the terminology in her contract. It’s great that she was able to get past that obstacle and fugue fans some more new hits. Hopefully, we get the debut album sometime this year.
