The Tory Lanez/Megan Thee Stallion shooting case reached another very interesting point today. Sources told Hip-HopVibe.com that Lanez is seeking to get his protective order that prevents him from contacting or seeing Megan modified. This would be to provide alleged evidence from prosecutors and eye witnesses.
“Evidence provided to the defense by the prosecution in discovery contains forensic and scientific reports, as well as statements of independent third-party eyewitnesses, which directly contradict the statements of Megan P. concerning the incident.”
A protective order was issued on November 18, 2020 prohibiting Mr. Peterson from disclosing the contents of the prosecution’s evidence and prohibiting Mr. Peterson’s counsel from disclosing the contents of the prosecution’s evidence outside the legal process.
There is significant evidence, provided by the People to Mr. Peterson, which contradicts Megan P. ‘s statements. This evidence – including gunshot residue implicating others- is mitigating, if not exculpatory, and casts serious doubt on the claims made by Megan P. The People are aware, witnesses who observed the alleged events also provide.”
Now, Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, is firing back. He spoke with Page Six and disputed Lanez’s claims. He stated that gunshot residue was on the Toronto rapper’s hands and even apologized to Megan via text.
“Did the motion fail to mention that there was gunshot residue on his hands or that he texted her ‘Sorry?’ I haven’t had a chance to read it.”
It’s definitely going to get even crazier with this case. The next court hearing is on February 25. Lanez has since plead not guilty to felony assault. He faces 22 years and eight months in prison if convicted. The alleged shooting occurred last summer in Hollywood Hills, CA after Megan and Lanez partied with Kylie Jenner. An argument ensued in their car with Megan’s ex-best friend, Kelsey Nicole, inside and Megan ended up being shot in her feet when she left the vehicle.
