It’s been a wild few days as last weekend, Megan Thee Stallion said she couldn’t release any new music because the Houston-based record label she’s signed to, 1501 Certified Entertainment, won’t let her. This label is owned by former MLB All-Star, Carl Crawford. Megan originally said she didn’t understand the contract she signed when she was 20 and is now being done wrong as she’s supposedly only made $15,000 out of the $7 million in revenue she made for 1501.
Megan also recently got a Texas judge to grant her a temporary restraining order against 1501 so she can release new music this Friday. She just took to social media to announce that her “SUGA” project will be out on March 6. It’s unknown if this is categorized as an album or mixtape though. It contains nine songs with features from Kehlani and Gunna. This is led by the single “B.I.T.C.H.” which is sampled from 2Pac’s 1996 “Ratha Be Ya N*gga” record off of his ‘All Eyez On Me‘ album.
Crawford has since denied any of Megan’s claims as he said when she got her management deal with Roc Nation last year, they wanted him out of the picture. He added that she stopped paying him after she got on Jay Z along with when her social media followers and concert performance fees went up.
