A few years ago, Master P made a highly-publicized announcement about giving up his old ways in exchange for new ones. Viewed as a pioneer in the rap game and overall business where young, black, men are concerned, many felt Master P’s change was long overdue. Master P was one of the first hardcore Southern rappers and he dominated the rap game in the mid-1990s.

New and improved, Master P promised he would refrain from cursing on his new songs. With his career already dwindled, Master P did not release much music. Instead, Master P focused on his numerous business interests. Given the long list of businesses he owns, many assumed Master P was done with rap, but he made a comeback in 2012.

Master P has returned to making the type of music he was known for, surprising those who remembered his prior statements. The founding member of the Louie V Mob, which also consists of Alley Boy and Fat Trel, Master  P explained he reverted back to this style because it is in him. Master P explained to Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Power 106 that he is still being the best person he can be.
