Blige on the hook. His single, “Can’t Knock The Hustle,” is the first track, from his Reasonable Doubt debut album. The song isn’t the first single, however, as it was released months after the album.

Jay-Z came a long way, in twenty-five years, going from being an independent rapper, to being the president of Def Jam. Many saw that as a huge accomplishment, but he resigned to create Roc Nation. Thirteen years later, the company consists of a record label and a sports agency.

Mary J. Blige played a key part, early, in the growth of Jay-Z’s career, and his empire. This role has not been forgotten, either, as Jay-Z’s personal net worth is $1.8 billion, and Roc Nation is the premier company, in the industry. Jay-Z gifted Mary J. Blige a Roc-A-Fella chain, which she wore at Angie Martinez’s BBQ, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of “Can’t Knock The Hustle” and Reasonable Doubt.
