Magic Johnson blames LeBron for Lakers not signing DeMar DeRozan
Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from playoff contention. The Lakers played the Phoenix Suns, who own the NBA’s best record. LeBron James didn’t play, as the Lakers took another blowout loss.
The 2022 season will go down, for the Lakers, as one of the franchise’s most disappointing. Entering this season, the Lakers expected to be title contenders. Instead, the Lakers have watched the losses mount.
For the second time in four years, the Lakers have a losing record with LeBron James. After the Suns loss, LeBron was visibly frustrated. LeBron James walked past his teammates to talk to Chris Paul, after the game. Many fans believe LeBron James will leave the Lakers in free agency. In four years, LeBron James led the Lakers to one title.
Magic Johnson recently spoke with “Get Up” on ESPN. The topic came up about the Lakers’ struggles and Magic didn’t hold back. Johnson said the Lakers’ struggles are LeBron James’ fault. Magic said the Lakers didn’t sign DeMar DeRozan, because of LeBron. While Magic said Kyle Kuzma would have been traded, it would’ve brought Buddy Hield in. Meanwhile, the Lakers would have kept Alex Caruso.
