One of the biggest breakout hip hop artists in recent years is Macklemore. In one corner, there are people who cannot stop singing his praises and in the other corner, there are people who have panned him for being “corny.” Mackelmore continues to rack up platinum singles in spite of all.
He continues the trend of artists breaking into the game on their own merits and such singles as “Same Love.” Without having help from a major, Macklemore made his album, The Heist, which was a success. A lot of people have gotten a crash course on the Seattle rapper, who has gone through it all, even a Method Man diss.
Macklemore recently paid a visit to New York City and he spoke on his current success. He spoke on “Same Love” in the interview, conducted by Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God, and DJ Envy of Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club.” Mack also spoke on Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse with Big Sean, Method Man, and the VMAs.
