Since 2005, Lil Wayne has shouted Young Money out on his songs. But, the name did not mean anything until the summer of 2009. Lil Wayne had begun to focus on Young Money in 2008 and began pushing Mack Maine as an artist. But, Mack Maine would make a name for himself as an executive.
During the summer of 2009, Mack Maine was instrumental in signing Drake and Nicki Minaj to Young Money. Since signing with Young Money, the two have become two of the biggest stars in the game. Tyga also has become an instrumental figure on the Young Money roster and has helped make Lil Wayne look very good.
Last week, Mack Maine sat down with Sway Calloway for MTV’s “RapFix Live.” While he sat on the couch, Mack Maine talked about several different things. In the latest clip, Mack Maine talked about Tyga’s growth as an artist, Nicki Minaj getting back on her grind when it comes to new music, and Drake’s upcoming album, Nothing Was the Same.
