Although he was overshadowed by Kendrick Lamar and Meek Mill, among others, the strongest debut of 2012 goes to Machine Gun Kelly behind them. During the summer of 2011, Machine Gun Kelly’s mixtape fame landed him a meeting with Diddy. Before the end of the summer, Machine Gun Kelly signed to Bad Boy Records.
Once the deal with Bad Boy Records was confirmed, Machine Gun Kelly released his single, “STFU.” Immediately, Machine Gun Kelly teamed up with Waka Flocka Flame for his “Wild Boy” single, which launched his Lace Up album. In October, the album was released and he proved his father wrong along the way.
While Machine Gun Kelly shared a rocky relationship with his father, his mother ran out on him. In recent years, Machine Gun Kelly’s father figure has been Diddy. During his interview with Jenny Boom Boom, Machine Gun Kelly talked about this situation and his relationship with Diddy.
