On January 31, Wayne released his highly anticipated “Funeral” album which ended up being delayed on its midnight released. It finally came out at 3am after initially briefly being on YouTube Music hours before. It was worth the wait though as fans were treated to 24 tracks with huge features from Big Sean, Jay Rock, XXXTentacion, Adam Levine, Lil Baby, and more.

Funeral ended up being another very successful project for the Louisiana legend as according to Billboard, it’s the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with 139,000 equivalent units. 38,000 consisted of traditional album sales. This project consists of fan-favorites such as “I Do It” featuring Big Sean and Lil Baby, “Funeral” and “Bing James” feat. Jay Rock.

Funeral is also the fifth No. 1 album for Wayne on the Billboard 200 as the previous ones were “Tha Carter V.” “Tha Carter IV.” “I Am Not a Human Being,” and “Tha Carter III.”  Billboard added that Funeral makes it the 12th for him to appear on the chart. The first was “Tha Block is Hot” in November of 1999. While many fans say that this isn’t a classic compared to the “Tha Carter” series, it still viewed as one of the best albums to kick off 2020.
