Years of waiting have boiled down to six days. Lil Wayne first discussed Tha Carter IV only months after he released his then-long awaited Carter III album. In between his Carter albums, Wayne has released two solo albums and an album with Young Money.
Those albums have all been holdovers, as the fans have been wanting his Carter IV ever since he first announced it. When he was released from prison, Lil Wayne said the album would soon be available. It has been a few months and singles have been released.
However, next week, the full album will be available. Lil Wayne said he would release Tha Carter IV to digital right after the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. With a performance that night, Lil Wayne will be fresh on the consumers’ mind.
Physical release of Tha Carter IV will follow the digital release on Monday, August 29, 2011.
