In 2004, Lil Wayne made his claim for greatness and many people had jokes for him about his quest. It was during the period where Jay-Z had retired and Lil Wayne began proclaiming himself as the new best rapper alive. Eventually, Lil Wayne challenged Jay-Z and the two began a very strange relationship.
Lil Wayne eventually got the respect he was looking for and he is now one of the highest-selling artists in the game. In the hip hop realm, Lil Wayne is THE highest-selling artist, period. As promised, Lil Wayne is retiring from the game, as he said that he didn’t see his career going past 2014 all the way back in 2008.
Time has flown, as Lil Wayne isn’t so “lil” anymore, turning thirty-two years old. His birthday is tomorrow and his closest friends surprised him yesterday. Christina Milian, Mack Maine, Lil Twist, Euro, DJ Scoob Doo, and more celebrated with him. They took over popular Lure nightclub in Los Angeles.
