A year ago, Lil Wayne appeared to be ready to reclaim his throne as the top rapper in the game. His single, “Believe Me,” featuring Drake, was blowing up and Tha Carter V was coming soon. When it comes to Carter albums, fans have come to expect multiple delays.
However, Lil Wayne wasn’t putting up with it this time. Before the end of 2015, Lil Wayne finally outed Birdman for his business ethics. After saying what he said, Lil Wayne began fighting to leave Cash Money Records, the only label he has ever known.
Since Cash Money Records has Tha Carter V tied up, Lil Wayne announced The Free Weezy Album. Last weekend, Lil Wayne announced a deal with Jay Z, which many believed was with Roc Nation, but was TIDAL, instead. Now, Lil Wayne has revealed July 4 is when The Free Weezy Album will be released.
