Nearly a decade ago, Lil’ Scrappy rose to fame as a member of Lil Jon’s BME clique as a member of the Trillville group. The Crunk faction of hip hop enjoyed much success during the 2003-2004 period. Lil’ Scrappy was the star of the group and soon started his solo career.

Eventually, Lil’ Scrappy joined forces with G-Unit, working closely with Young Buck and was featured in the “Candy Shop” music video. Though he worked very closely with G-Unit Records, Lil’ Scrappy never signed. At one point, Young Buck was preparing to head G-Unit South and was to sign Lil’ Scrappy, but the deal fell apart.

In the time since Young Buck’s falling out with G-Unit, Lil’ Scrappy has bounced around. At one point he was signed with DTP, but has since left. Lil’ Scrappy has returned to the headlines, starring in VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” His mother, much like Jim Jones’ on the flagship series, has stolen the show.

Recently, Lil’ Scrappy sat down with Hot 97 and spoke on this.
